Lines and Logos is well versed in the regulations for various size sport courts and proper execution thereof.

Let’s talk about the most common types of outdoor sport courts:

  1. Basketball

  2. Tennis

  3. Pickleball

  4. Court Conversions

  1. Basketball

Basketball courts are one of, if not, the most publicly accessible courts in the United States, especially in Cleveland, Ohio with the professional NBA Team: The Cleveland Cavaliers, also knows as the Cavs.

Fun facts aside, Basketball courts are everywhere and the lines typically do last a long time due to low to no vehicle traffic with weathering and UV exposure being the main source of line deterioration. The diagram on the right showcases all the intricacies when it comes to layout a Basketball court from scratch.

The time to do so can take anywhere from a few hours to a whole day of prep work before laying down a single coat of paint. Fortunately, Lines and Logos is well equipped to accurately measure all dimensions and ensure a gameday ready court!

  2. Tennis

Tennis is also incredibly common through the United States with public courts being less available than Basketball, there are many Tennis Clubs with private facilities available to play at.

Tennis courts require long, straight line. There is minimum room for deviations in angle and line width. A crisp line is necessary to ensure identification of whether or not a tennis ball is inside the boundaries or not.

Like a Basketball Court, the set up time can vary. Albeit, a Tennis court will generally take less time due to being all 90 degree angles. Still, expert prep work is required to ensure a perfect, finished product.

  3. Pickleball

The hottest new sport taking the globe by storm is……tennis, but with a twist? Jokes aside, Pickleball is an incredibly popular sport, especially in the Cleveland Metropolitan area. Pickleball court marking are imperative for proper gameplay.

Pickleball court layouts are also all 90 degree angles. There is no curvature that changes partially through a line, it is simply boxes distributed within a larger box. As such, the prep work will be less intensive than a basketball court, but still require meticulous attention to detail.

A question that gets brought up a lot, because many districts want to repurpose Tennis courts is: can I convert a Tennis court into a Pickleball court? The answer: absolutely!

This process is straight forward: we will work with your organization to determine how you would like to repurpose the Tennis court. We can work across the length to essentially convert 1 Tennis Court into 4 Pickleball Courts, or across the width and add 2 Pickleball Courts for 1 Tennis Court. We recommend a contrasting color marking to ensure that players know which boundaries are applicable.

If your community courts near a fresh coat of paints so individuals can make the right calls: Lines and Logos can do it. If your private league wants to add the latest craze to your facility: Lines and Logos can do it. If your Lake Erie acreage has a court ready to marking: Lines and Logos can do it.
